Witnessing History: Shiva Shrestha Foundation Hosts Digital Screening of Classic Masterpiece 'Jeevan Rekha'

The Shiva Shrestha Foundation successfully organized a special digital screening of the historic film 'Jeevan Rekha' at Jalma Cinema Hall in Narayangarh, Chitwan. This event marked a significant moment in the foundation's mission to preserve and promote Nepal's rich cultural and artistic legacy.

'Jeevan Rekha', the fourth film produced by the Royal Nepal Film Corporation, is widely regarded as one of Nepal's most commercially successful classics. Directed by the legendary Prakash Thapa, this film marked the debut of the 'Action King' Shiva Shrestha in a leading role—a milestone that effectively launched the era of private-sector filmmaking in Nepal and inspired legendary productions like 'Kanchhi', 'Juni', and 'Aadarsinari'.

This screening was a pioneering initiative, honoring the legacy of vintage films by digitizing them for modern audiences. As the first classic to be showcased in this digital format at a premiere event, 'Jeevan Rekha' has once again set a precedent for the industry.

The event was graced by eminent personalities from the Nepali film industry, including Senior Director and Actor Neer Shah, Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh Raj Dahal, and Senior Director/Producer Akash Adhikari. Also in attendance were Ram Prasad Shrestha (Producer of 'Kanchhi' and 'Karja') and other distinguished guests.
